How to enable Tap to Pay on the PayPal app

Getting paid should be the simplest part of running your business, and getting set up with Tap to Pay is just as easy. Once you’re done, you won’t need any extra hardware to accept payments on your phone.

Get Tap to Pay set up in just a few steps:

  1. Download or open the PayPal App. If you don’t have it yet, you can find it on the App Store or on Google Play.
  2. Create or log in to your PayPal Business account. There's no cost to open an account.*
  3. Enable Tap to Pay. Once you’re logged in to your PayPal Business account, find the contactless payment icon and Tap to Pay messaging. Follow the prompts to enable your device to accept contactless payments via Tap to Pay on the PayPal App.
  4. Start accepting payments. After you’ve completed the simple setup steps and we’ve verified your identity, you can take your first contactless payment.
