Update to Account Settings to Accept International Payments

What’s Changing?

An update is being made to enable business accounts to receive payments from international PayPal accounts.

How Does This Affect You?

Once this update has been made, PayPal business accounts will be able to accept purchases from international PayPal accounts if their shipping destination aligns with your current international shipping settings. Current international shipping settings will remain unchanged.

Between March 25th – April 23rd, 2025, PayPal will ensure that your business is covered against incremental fraud losses from transactions with non-US PayPal accounts ensuring PayPal Business account holders have the time to make a decision on whether to disable payments from international PayPal accounts.

Why Are We Making This Change?

Previously, businesses may have unintentionally blocked transactions due to the "Block payments from non-US PayPal accounts" setting. By updating this, we’re helping businesses expand their customer base and increase sales while still allowing them to control shipping destinations.

What Do You Need to Do?

If you’re happy with this update, no action is needed—your account will automatically adjust.

If you’d like to revert to the old settings, you can either contact your account manager, or follow the steps below:

  1. Log in to your PayPal account.
  2. Go to Payment Preferences under "Account Settings."
  3. Update your preferences under Block Payments.

Thank you for choosing PayPal.
