Information provided by PayPal is not intended to be and should not be construed as tax advice. For questions about your specific tax situation, please consult a tax professional.

Here's how to create and download a detailed report of all your transaction activity for a given time-frame in the past 7 years on the web:

  1. Go to Activity.
  2. Click All Reports.
  3. Select Activities and then Activity Report.
Note: Click Activity download if in Classic View.
  4. Select the transaction type, date range, and file format.
  5. Click Customize report fields and select the fields you want to include in your report.
  6. Click Create Report.
  7. When the report is ready, click Download.

You can download a report of your transaction activity for up to the past 7 years into PDF, Quicken, QuickBooks, or as a CSV or TAB file.

You can also download your monthly statements, or create custom statements for any date range within the past 3 years. The monthly statement will be available any time after the second of the month.

To view and download monthly and custom statements on the web:

  1. Go to Activity.
  2. Click All Reports.
  3. Click Payments and then Statements – monthly and custom.
Note: Click Monthly or Custom under Statements if in Classic View.
  4. Click Request under the monthly statement you're looking to download (PDF or CSV).
  5. When the statement is ready, click Download.

When you download a transaction report for a mass payment, you can download a single report for the entire mass payment, or you can download a report for each individual transaction within the mass payment.

Here's how to download a transaction report for a mass payment:

  1. Go to the Activity Reports section of your account.
  2. Under "Transaction Type," click Payouts.
  3. Click Customize Download Fields (not available for PDF) on the right of the screen.
  4. Select which fields to include in the log and click Save.
  5. Choose "Custom Date Range" or "Last Download to Present," and from the drop-down menu select how you'll download the report.
  6. Click Download.

Here's how to filter an Excel Spreadsheet:

  1. Click the row with all of the subjects ("Date", "Time", "Name", etc.). Click the number to highlight the entire row.
  2. Click Data at the top of the Excel window.
  3. Click Filter, under "Data".
  4. There is an arrow on each row. If you click it there is a drop down with checked boxes. (If you uncheck boxes it will allow you to filter out what you do not need.)
  5. Click the box directly below the last fee/ tax/ shipping amount to get the total amount of fees.
  6. Go to the top of the spreadsheet and hold the Shift button and then click the first amount in the column.
  7. Click Formulas at the top of the Excel window.
  8. Click AutoSum. All of the columns will be added together and show the total amount in the box under the last fee amount.

  • We save the last 3 most recently completed, large History Log files.
  • Small logs are downloaded immediately and are not saved.
